A dollar full of dreams and then some!

Well, it happened.  I didn't win the lotto. So, back to work I go tomorrow.  Heh.  Ok, so I didn't really think I had a chance in hell to win, but a girl can dream can't she?  I, along with the majority of others in this country, got caught up in the whole lotto fever thing.  My dad would be proud.  If you're new to this blog, you should know that my father is a devout lotto player.  He never misses. In fact, he's been in Nicaragua since January, but he made sure to call me the night before the lotto numbers were announced, to make sure I (a) bought my ticket and (b) picked the "right" numbers.  -That's my dad!  It's a nice dream, hitting the winning numbers.  I let myself get carried away with the hoopla and let my mind wander into the world of "what ifs"  As in, "What if I DID win?"  Here are a few things I came up with:

1.  I'd pay off all my debts
2.  I'd pay off all of my familys' debts
3.  I'd donate a fair share to my church
4.  I'd buy a house -the dream house I've always wanted
5.  I'd split it with my siblings.  Ensuring their futures and that of my nieces and nephews
6.  I'd make sure my parents would never want or long for anything the rest of their lives
7.  I'd travel the world
8.  I'd quit my job and devote my life to writing
9.  I'd buy my dream car (duh!)
10. I'd buy world peace.  Kidding. Sort of.

Anyway, that's probably what I'd do, if I ever won the lotto or come into loads of money.  Hey, like I said, a girl's gotta dream, right?

So I wanted to thank everyone for their comments and concern, the texts and the phone calls, that came to me shortly after I posted last week.  I was, still am actually, sorting through stuff that's going on with me, with my life.  Can't say I'm all better, but I'm not all bad.  Tomorrow is another day, and all that.  At any rate, thanks for the love guys! You sure know how to make a girl feel special.  And I love you all for it.

I've been trying to read up on all the blogs I've missed reading, so bear with me as I play catch-up.  Don't want you to think I'm ignoring you.

I have no idea why I am up so early this Sunday morning.  I normally like to sleep in. It's the only day that I can do that. But for some odd reason, I've been awake since about 5:30 a.m.  Not cool.  I gave up trying to fall back to sleep and came here instead.

Day forty of no cokes.  That's right.  I said FORTY!  I'm down to the home stretch, got exactly 7 days left to go! I can't even believe it.  It's all so surreal.  I know some of you probably think I'm crazy for getting so excited about this.  But believe me when I say, that this is HUGE for me. Remember, I'm not a follow-through-er.  I never last this long.  And the fact that it's been forty days that I've stuck to my goal of not drinking any cokes/caffeine is incredibly amazing to me.  You have no idea how proud I am of myself.

Alright, I'm going to see what kind of trouble I can get myself into on this beautiful day.  I hope you do the same!  Oh and hope you're not a fool today.  Tomorrow yes. But not today.  :)

Ciao!

I've been kind of out of it, but I'm glad you are feeling better. Sorry you didn't win the lotto. My hubby is like your father. Never misses. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could all win and help our family and friends? Love and hugs.

I think we have all, at one time or another, contemplated what we would do if we came into a HUGE amount of money. It is nice to dream about that sort of thing. Of course, the reality is that it is a proven fact that people cannot handle coming into HUGE amounts of money all at once. Gradually yes. All at once, no. I don't think that there are actually any truly great success stories of lotto winners, etc. However, there are groups set up like AA for lotto winners. Seriously. All that said, I still like to dream about what I would do if I won a HUGE chunk of change!!!

I often dream about winning Lotto I will lay in bed and think about what I would do if I won, and you know what I would do and what you would do is very much the same I would want to take care of my family and share the money around.......

Aww, that sucks! Well, better luck next time.

I do like your plans for the money, tho. You're very generous.

Hey, it's April. So get out there and enjoy Spring this week! :) Hope you have a good one, and celebrate big next Sunday with a gallon jug of COKE!

I kid, of course.

Sorta.

I appreciate your heart, combined with raw honesty, Yvonne. Hang tough, because you're a tough cookie. And 40+ days without coke or caffeine? You're an inspiration.

PS I really like your new-ish blog page.

Belle- I read you were going through stuff. I hope you get better soon and life returns to normal for you! xoxo

Robin- True. Sadly, some people, myself included, go a little crazy when it comes to spending money -big loot or not! ha!

Jo-Anne- ...great minds think alike!

David- Ha! Meh, I'll just go back to wishing upon a star, my odds are better! :) 8pring? Um, no, we officially went to Summer mode today. If today is any indication of what is to come, it's going to be sweltering one! A gallon of coke? bahahahaha You're crazy! I will TRY to control myself. I've actually become quite fond of water. :)

Robyn- Thanks! It's been rough but I'm almost done! Glad you like the new layout!

Do you attend the Church of Ruth?
Just kidding.
I didn't even play. Yes, I am an oddity.

If I won the lottery I'd buy the world a Coke... except you. I'd buy you a Mai Tai or something to celebrate your achievement. Congrats on 40 days without soda. You're almost there, just another week! And if you can hold out that long, you can kick the habit forever!

Too bad on the lotto! I didn't do a lot of thinking about it, but it is fun to dream.
I too wish you more balance in life soon. Tough times, but I know you will get through it and be all the better for it.
Funny, I read somewhere recently that drinking tea tends to keep people more 'even' emotion-wise because of the small amount of caffeine in it. Maybe you're missing the Coke?! But kudos to you for taking the initiative to change and following through. That is a big deal!

Seriously, you are so inspiring me to ditch the Coke-a-Cola. I'm really going to try.

You will be better than okay. I just hope you know how much we adore you, my dear friend.

Ruth- muahaha! good one!

Insomniac- Bahahaha! I had that song in my head ALL day, thanks to you!!! And I hope I'm referring to the same song, otherwise, I'd feel pretty silly right about now! Ha! Oh it's ON! But instead of a Mai tai, how about a Grey Goose and cranberry juice, please? :)

My husband bought a ticket and he never does. It was a work thing. So funny that your dad is so into it! I am so impressed by you giving up Cokes like that. I should do that, too!

Jennifer- Thank you! I am pretty amazed myself, that I've followed through with this!

Kelley- Ha! My dad is nuts! I can't believe he called us just for that reminder! I never thought I could give up drinking coke for a week, let alone over a month! Super proud of me! :)
