just my state of mind

This life I lead
so full
so fast

It fills me
with love
with loss
with anger
with problems
with stress
with tears
with anxieties

The light shines brightly
I shield my eyes
It's safer here
in the darkness
of my despair

But the light keeps shining
enticing me
reminding me that there is more to life than darkness.

Hello bloggies! It's Sunday and I'm sure you're wrapping up your weekend as am I.  So the that little blurb up there, pretty dark, yes?  I apologize for that but the sadness took over my normal "happy" place.  The "monster" that follows me and heckles me and taunts me, is still here.  It's more stubborn this time.  I fight it, but I'm losing right now.  Tomorrow is another day.

Tell me something good! And remember, Monday's on deck, make it a great one!

I'm reading "Eat, Pray, Love" right now. She says her two enemies, Depression and Loneliness, tracked her down even in the beauty of Italy. She fights these demons too.

Something good? Nestle's Icecream Drumsticks. I just ate one and it was heaven! That's all I got.
Except I love you.

Dark and lovely poem.

Something good? I'm reading BOSSYPANTS by Tina Fey and it's making me laugh out loud! Totally enjoying it. Happy Monday! :)

The 'darkness' is sometimes a depth that only the lucky ones ever get to reach. That's the way I look at.
While I do not suffer from depression myself, most of my family members do and I notice how beautifully gifted they can be artistically. With every gift there is a price it seems. Learning how to manage the gifts can be tricky though...

I really related to the poem, dark as it was.
Thanks so much for popping into my blog party.
It was wonderful to see you. :)

Great poem, Yvonne. I can relate.

Hang in there. It's tough, I know. But things will get better. It always does.

A beautiful poem!! It actually describes how I've been feeling of late too. The stress has just been so overwhelming recently!

Good news? The world did NOT end Saturday, so there are many more good days about to look forward to. :)

Did that help?

Jennifer- Good! I was given that as a gift and have yet to read it! Glad you liked my "darkness".

YRJ- What a great way to look at such a emotional situation. I'd never thought of it that way. Hmm, gives me lots to ponder. Thanks for that! :)

Mynx- Thanks for having me again! ha!

Yeah, I can definitely relate. Just remember without the darkness there would be no light. Let's see, something good ... I know, Moppet got her stitches out today and doesn't have to wear that horrible cone collar anymore. She's one happy camper.
