Crashing

A feeling so good you want to bottle it up and take in doses.
Going through the day floating on air
A permanent smile on my face
Everything is brighter, more colorful, exciting
Afternoon daydreaming
of our night together.
Morning comes
Another day
The "so good feeling" is gone
Empty and hollow
is what I'm left with

As with everything
what goes up
must come down

Crashing.

***Not so sure about this poem.  If you want to call it that.  Just thoughts swirling in my head and decided to post them.  I may delete it, not sure***

Your poem made me think this:
It is true that without a life long commitment, then the feelings we have about a night with someone will crash.

Without the marriage, the vows and the faith in one another, I don't see how the music lasts.

This looks like something someone would feel if they were on drugs.

Belle- True and I agree. However, I was referring to the "crashing" or the coming off the "high" that person may have felt after being with their lover.

Ditzy- it could couldn't it?

Nah, don't take it down, I like it. Btw, who says you can't feel that way even if you've been married for a million years?

I love your poetry, Yvonne. It makes me think. I don't understand poetry too often though. :)

I guess I've never been that high afterwards. :(
I've just recently learned to make faces.

I so totally get this. I set myself up for crashing way more often than I like to admit. I always know it's coming but I take that as just a side effect of getting what I want. Dysfunctional? Yes. Honest? Yes as well.

RG- Exactly!!!! The vicious cycle is what I call it.

No, don't delete. I think we can all relate to that bliss before (and after) the crash. You expressed it very well.
