Well, it was only a matter of time. So a few weeks back, I received an email from POF (a dating site)reminding me about my inactive account and how I "may be missing out on the man of my dreams!", so tonight, I finally remembered to go delete my account. Well, lo and behold what do I see upon going to my profile? A message alert. Wow. I didn't think I could receive messages anymore considering my account has been inactive for ages! Anyway, curiosity got the better of me and I began to read. The letter was from "Sexy Samuel" -that was his screen name. He lived in Huntsville, Texas. In prison. Yes that's right bloggies, I received my first mail ever from an inmate! I know, I know, you're jealous. As well you should be. His letter said that his "friend" set up the account for him. He went on to say he really liked my profile and my pictures and thought I was "way purde"
-yeah, that's how he spelled it. Instead of a picture of himself, there was a picture of a six pack of beer. The more I read, the more amused I became. And defeated. I mean, this is what my less than stellar dating life has come to? A convicted felon? Seriously? Nice. And yet, I keep reading. He just wants to be friends first (such a gentleman) but was not against phone calls or phone sex.
Envy me.

Sooooo jealous.
The man of your dreams is just behind . . . Cell Block No. 1!!!
We hope you enjoy your parting gifts. :)
Oh, girlfriend. I feel your pain. I wrote a piece about my date with an ex con. He had 4 drunk driving arrests and spent time in jail. Ok, we can lower the bar some, but not so far below sea level. A gal's gotta draw the line somewhere.

OMG I'm So jealous..seriously..I could pull my hair out i'm so jealous. or..something like that. really i'd love the case of beer. and yvonne..i gotta say..You are so purde.
At least I don't have to worry about seeing you on the 'Jail Wives' tv show (yes, they even have a reality show about convicts' wives). Sexy Samuel sounds like a catch, the one you throw back right away....keep the beer though. Don't worry, you are so purde, you'll find somebody else right away....
Oh Yvonne, I am laughin' with ya, not at ya...
I have always been amazed at mens ability to think they have a chance with any woman no matter their life choices, etc. Maybe its a built in genetic thing because if most men realized how small their chances were the species would die out.
Just remember there ARE women out there who would take this seriously and thank God you are NOT one of them.
BTW, I do envy you for this fine catch. I myself have not had the good fortune to add a convicted felon to my list of less than stellar men who thought they had a chance with me. Sorry, but I am still giggling about this...
You have to admit he has good taste. You ARE purde!
At least you know where he is at all times.
OMG....that's pretty whack...however, things can't go anywhere but UP after that!!
Robin- you should be! :)
David- muahahahaha! can i give it back instead!!?
Robyn- no kidding!!!
Rita- haha! perhaps you should try the inmate personals so you TOO can be as lucky as me!
Alessandra- bahahaha! Thanks!
YRJ- It's okay, I'm still laughing too!
Belle- lol thank you!!!
Israel- wel, there IS that!
IWW- Welcome! Thanks for dropping by! And yes, I agree, anything else should be an upgrade from here on out! (i hope!)
Oh no....inmate admirers! lol.
You can do better. Trust me...
My sister used to date a guy who was in an out of prison. This was before the internet was around, so they met in person, and then he got arrested like 5-6x.
Anyway, he kept saying he'd stay out of trouble and marry her, and she kept believing it...but he never did. One day she got tired of waiting and ended it.
Five years later she found a good, decent man with a great job and no criminal record... and they've been happily married for a decade. So, yeah... you'll find your Mr. Right. And he wont be wearing an orange jumpsuit, lol.
Sorry if my post brought back some bad memories. I can't say that they go away forever, cause I'm not there yet. But meeting someone new definitely helps!
Insomniac#4- Thanks for the follow! Welcome to my chaos! :)
Your poor sister! 5-6x?? Ugh! Well, at least she found good guy after all that. As for your post, eh, I was already thinking about that to be honest, reading your post just made the memories more vivid. Someone new, hahahahhaha! You got jokes! ;)
What an awesome post! Hey, take that inmate's attention as a compliment! He knows a "purde" girl when he sees one!
We all should be so lucky. You are too funny! Thanks for sharing, Yvonne.
Kelley- lol thanks girl!
Jennifer Brown Banks- You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for dropping by! :)
Oh. My. God. I'm hysterical over here, but at the same time, I know how you feel. I can't claim a prospective suitor in the form of an inmate, but I've had my share of "is this all there is?"
I'm all about finding the humor in life. What else can you do? And you did just that with your orange-wearing lover boy.
Think we'll ever meet that "wow" guy? Think he even exists? Wait. Don't answer that.
I hope so FV! I hope so!!!!
You certainly answered that question! LOL
But, you're right--hope is the only answer because Lord knows if we go by what we see, we'd write the whole thing off as one big joke.
So, here's to hope! :)
