Sunday night dribble
No matter how many times I tell myself I won't obsess about this anymore, I still do it! What am I talking about? Men of course! What else makes me this crazy? I just don't get them. First of all, dating sucks. Maybe not for everyone, but for me, it's never good. Somehow, something always goes wrong and/or gets derangely complicated. It can never be simple and it always comes down to sex, sex and more sex. Don't get me wrong, I love sex. However, when I've just met you and we're trying to get to know one another, going down on you is not how I want to spend our first date. Unless of course, that's all there is. I'm not a prude, I know we all have urges and yes, I have had the one night stands and the "friend" that I called upon in my time of need. But that's not what happened in this case. In this case I thought there was a mutual interest in dating. How stupid of me to think something so outrageous! This becomes more and more frustrating to me as I get older. I'm at the point where I'm wondering what the use is anyway! It just seems that men have their agenda, their games, that object between their legs that drives their every move! Ugh! That's it! I'm going to go out and buy knitting materials and drop by the pet store to buy a cat tomorrow. And I loathe cats! But eh, if I'm going to grow to be an old spinster, I may as well dress the part, don't you think? I'm not looking for sympathy here, I'm just venting. Tune in tomorrow for yet another episode of "As My Dating World Turns..."

Unfortunately, us men are raised on instant gratification. But not all us are children--some have grown up. Some actually are interested in dating first, and are genuinely nice, mature human beings at heart.
Problem is, they're almost always snatched up quick! :)
...and therein lies my problem! lol
The cat is only going to make the men look worse!
Sandra - Ha! I know!!!
Crap, Yvonne. This totally sucks! There has to be someone good out there, but how much can a girl take?
Belle -A LOT -apparently! lol It's okay, I'm also considering becoming a nun. Muahahhahaha! Seriously though, I'm okay. I was just frustrated at that situation but I'm over it.
Good thing it only took one date to figure out this guy's worthiness! Next!
Make sure you've got some sexy underwear under that nun's habit. Actually that would be the perfect get up really. Sexy underwear to make you feel damn good for no other reason than that, and a nun's habit to scare off all the men who weren't looking to get to know You.
Ha! Oh definitely I'm all about the sexy undies! Wearing it underneath the habit, hmmm, I LIKE it! hahahha
Hmmm you have perfectly described many of the dates I have been on too... it seems strange to me that guys haven't gotten it into their heads that if they get to know me better, and I get to know them better - the sex will be waaaaaay better!
I think David hit it on the head when he brought up immediate gratification. I confess thast I have been guilty of that too, and have only recenlty begun listening to my own advice :S
That being said, it's been months since I've even had a date!
ox Kelly
well, i understand how you feel, I had a lot of 'strange' dates as well, but you know what, the moment i got me my SPike, the type of men who asked me out changed...TOTALLY.
Now i have REALLY great dates with really sweet guys.
Sigh, havent met my forever man yet though.
so.. DONT GET A CAT!
Get a puppy :D
My best advice here is to spend some time visualizing the man that you want. Know what you want in very specific terms. Imagine him so clearly that you could reach out and touch him. Imagine him so clearly that you don't need him. I know that sounds somewhat contradictory to what you want, but it isn't. Once you are in perfect harmony with what you want, it will start coming to you. The losers that you are attracting now will no longer be attracted to you because you will no longer be in harmony with that. You control this ship. Getting a dog isn't a bad idea if you have the time for one. It is a living thing for you to give love to. And dogs love unconditionally. It could help you get into a place of feeling better and more loving in general. But, don't get a dog if you don't have time for one. And definitely not a pup. They require tons of time, like children.
kelly- we just have to keep on keeping on girlie!
LD- LMAO! I won't get a cat! I really can't stand them! And I just don't have the time for a dog. I love them, but I would never subject them to live with me, they would always be alone. I'll just keep playing "Dating Roulette"!
Robin - Thank you so much for your advice. I've never thought of doing that before. I've written on paper what the type of man I want in my life, but maybe I need to visualize him more. At any rate, your words mean a lot to me! :)
Between the ex and Cam there were a few guys. One who wanted commitment so bad but I couldn't stand the distance, and the boring Octopus man. I admit it was fun at the time, but he was so dull to talk to and the grabby stuff was all he wanted really so slowly I stopped talking to him.
